Whether you are new to Austin area, the alumnae world or have been involved with our organization for many years, welcome to the Austin Zeta Tau Alpha Alumnae chapter!
ZTA held its annual national convention this July with the theme of “Inspire Greatness.” At convention, the Austin ZTA Alumnae Chapter won the Founder’s Club Highest Donor Level Award for raising approximately $30,000 for the ZTA Foundation from 2014 to 2016. We were the only ZTA alumnae chapter in the nation to achieve this honor!
We also won a Silver award for Alumnae Public Relations (second runner up) and a Crown Chapter Award.
Our Executive Committee has worked hard this year to plan a variety of events we hope will inspire greatness among our current and potential members and community.
We look forward to seeing you at our events and service projects this year. Our first event for 2017-18 is our annual fall kickoff party on Wednesday, September 20.
We are also excited to partner with the American Cancer Society and participate in a future Making Strides for Breast Cancer Walk. This walk will take the place of our previous participation in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Since there is not a Making Strides walk scheduled in the Austin area for 2016-17, we will be participating and volunteering with the Mamma Jamma Ride on Saturday, September 24 in Martindale (near San Marcos). This event will benefit nine local nonprofits including the Breast Cancer Resource Center and Seton.
I’m looking forward to meeting those new to the chapter and reconnecting with old friends and familiar faces at some of our upcoming events this fall and spring. Please find us on Facebook at Austin ZTA and Twitter @austinzta for more information on upcoming events.
